Hello Friends, today I am sharing a tutorial on how to add watercolors to your cards.
I made a step by step tutorial for Amazing Paper Grace - Creative Encouragement Group on Facebook, you can join it for tutorials and inspiration from the crafters around the world.
and I am featuring Picot Petite collection by Amaziong Paper Grace, this time S5 -431 Circles Etched Dies
Start with die cutting the circles from 3 different cardstock papers that will match each other. Trim the
Trim the smallest die cut almost in a half, and as for the biggest and the medium one - trim just a small
small part from one side.
Adhere the foam pads to all 3 die cuts, or just to 2 of them , that are on the top.
Arrange all 3 die cuts so that they have the straight line (with no scallop) at one side.
You can adhere them at this step or you can wait until you add all the flower embellishments
I adhered the biggest circle to the cardstock base with no adding the foam pads and started arranging the
flowers on my card
I also die cut the smallest part of this die set - a circle and adhered a small piece of cardboard to it .
since I am going to place it behind the smallest etched circle and to avoid double dimension, I adhered
the cardboard piece only on the side that is not hidden .
Here it is how it looks after I adhered all the paper layers
I am starting applying white acrylic primer on the parts where I plan to add watercolors later. It allows
to protect the paper from soaking the color splashes.
Also it adds a shabby look at the same time too.
Then I added the watercolors - blue, mixed blue and green, and red mixed with light tones. I added
more water to get a translucent look.
I used Jane Davenport Watercolors Set Glitz Sea
And the beautiful papers are from Maja Design - Summer Crush collection.
Hope that you have liked my tips and that you give it a try.
